Mendozza thought I was daft…

When I noticed the foot of one of his socks was totally wore out I raised a bit of hell.

We have an ongoing issue with playing outside in our socks. I guess it’s cool but we have had early morn dramas… being unable to find socks to wear to school – the world ends. I do feel justified in my touchiness per the topic.

So when I see Mendozza with socks on and one foot wore completely through I ask why he’s out with just his socks on. He defends himself and says he was not, that he had been wearing shoes. I maybe got a tad bit cranky and asked “say what”…

Thats when he looked at me as though he thought me daft and showed me his shoes…

Guess which foot he habitually uses to brake…

Been a while

But never fear,

the fearsome Flying Gecko bros are cranking along…

Most of our time has been spent in the fine pursuit of Football. Or, Soccer, as some know it. We practice and have games and play sandlot games at home. Football is indeed a fine game…

We also skate n scoot a lot. Today we were down at the beach and found a killer skate park…

Now, we have a very serviceable skate park a couple blocks from the house but this one is our new favourite place to be cool …

It is always good to get down to the briney blue…

how quiet is your house?

The fearsome flying gecko bros go “stings”…

Geckos at Mooloolaba beach

gotts ta’keep this secret…

Reminds me of a sting we did on ma when I first went to the Solos… she was piss’d for ages.

But…

The flying Gecko Brothers want to be the first to say hapi birtday to Aunt Angela…

So we need to keep this secret from Angela…

Can I please ask uncle Duck to buy Angela a dinner with fine wine on behest of the FGBs? We want you to take a taxi to dinner so you both can enjoy the night.

We note the 14th is Saturday and we understand that you, Doug, being a romantic devil, will have plans of your own and we do not wish to contravene but…

We want to buy Aunt Angela the best night out DSM has to offer… best food, best wine, (yea, go ahead, waste it even though Angela is not a big wine drinker) but the FGBs recommend Dom Peringnom…

So, honestly, please believe, the check is in the mail…

not enough for a pontoon but surely enough for a big smile.

The FGB’s say hapi birtday first… We still think the LakeHouse is the bitchn-est ever…

Big smiles… and thanks and look forward to the next time…

Gecko in the pantry

Ever wonder what your kids did when you were not around? Not sure what they were thinking when they took the pictures but, here in Palmwoods, we got Geckos in the pantry…

flying high, Gecko style

The boys have been playing on my age-old affair with remote control helicopters. Now, as many know, I personally have a habit of taking too big of  a bite, too often. And my career with RC ‘copters is the same. I still have a couple supa-dupa Esky belt drive birds in the hangar in Honiara. Of course, when we bought these (Mendozza was an accomplice) we succeeded  in becoming very adept at repairing the bird we continually crashed. So much so that, at one point, spares were getting so costly we bought a 2nd Esky with interchangeable parts for the first. Of course this led to us having one flying bird and one for scavenging. I lie, we never really succeeded in controlling the Esky birds in flight. But they were a buzz to watch crash.

Just the other day, after much restraint in regards to RC fun, we stumbled upon a cheap micro-copter. Don’t fly for beans but we have thus far failed to damage it beyond use. But here-in lies the problem… a small bird like that cannot take any wind. So we end up getting up at 630 to go flying. We go over to the schools playing field where we have unlimited space.

And it is great… Need to get the Esky birds down here…
